The Peterborough YMCA has become a vibrant centre for recreational and leisure activity and has been fondly embraced by both our membership and the community at large

The team at architects Tillmann Ruth Robinson led by Scott Robinson engaged staff from MLEMS and worked collaboratively to understand our vision, the needs of our operation, and to design a functional space that houses a two bay ambulance station, logistics garage, decontamination bay, training, and administrative staff. The building has been designed to meet our service and communite needs for many years, with growth opportunity built into the design.

Over the past few days, including the Donor Recognition Night and the Grand Opening, there has been little time to thank those most involved in the success of the Maitland Recreation Centre. The project has been a success and the Donor Night and Grand Opening attendance was far beyond our expectations.

McMichael, who was the Architect for the office project, was very much in tune with what our vision was for a new office space. His unique vision to connect the two spaces in a fluid and open concept was very well executed. Using a 3D video model to give us a virtual walk through was extremely helpful for our faculty and staff to get a real sense of the new space. It was a brilliant approach. The feedback we received from internal and external guest even a year after are very positive and the space is trend setting for the rest of Humber College.

[aTRR]…spent a great deal of time consulting with the various user groups of Elgin Hall and were able to incorporate many of the resulting suggestions into the final building design. In addition to the suggestions of user groups, the location of Elgin Hall resulted in special attention being paid to the building exterior and landscaping at the request of both the London and University communities.

We are pleased to recommend aTRR for any health care work and appreciate the commitment and service they have provided and continue to provide to us on an ongoing basis.

Scott provided remarkable insights into his design that connected the structure with the best features our Northern Ontario landscape has to offer…Through his creative direction, Mr. Robinson produced a final product that is not only unique, but that has greatly enhanced the student and faculty experience, as well as improved the visibility, profile and image of the College…Because of Scott’s dedication, creativity, courage and excellence in creating this state-of-the-art learning facility, we can say with confidence that the impressive three-story glass and steel academic wing will serve as a campus dream for years to come.

Throughout the project, we have come to rely on aTRR for their professionalism, their prompt response time, their ability to navigate the array of stakeholder feedback, their eye for design and efficient use of space, their solution focused resolve, and their enthusiasm. The new Student Health and Wellness Centre is a vital component of our evolving college curriculum. Our numerous health programs will be significantly enhanced by offering a first class learning opportunity to our students.
