Brock University, Residence 8
This new 308 bed student residence will mark the eastern entrance to the Brock campus by putting on display a modern dining facility and student amenity space. It will also put Brock University on display by offering greater exposure and a new campus edge to Glenridge Ave. A new outdoor green quadrangle will be created for students, nestled between the existing Earp Residence, the new Residence 8 and the future Residence 9. This will be a protected green space for outdoor student use. The ground floor of the building will connect adjacent buildings to the new dining hall and offer amenity and administration spaces such as: a new student lounge; a conference meeting room with catering space; catering and conference services offices; laundry facilities; a music room; reception desk; mail room; and covered outdoor patio space.
Within the new Residence, student lounge space will face the adjacent Niagara Escarpment, focusing views to this signature natural landscape, including a 6th floor outdoor terrace overlooking the escarpment.
The building will be welcoming where spaces are designed to reduce stress, promote wellbeing and assist students in achieving their academic goals.
